A Tribute To Big D and The Kids Table

By Kori

"I am a piece of chalk, trying to make my mark on the blackboard of our lives."
And make their mark they have. Big D and The Kids table is one of the punkest ska bands to ever emerge from Beantown, and they'll surely be remebered by me just as clearly as bands like The BossToneS and Aerosmith, who have developed national, cult-like followings. Who needs fame when you can have as much fun as Big D? A great bunch of guys as well as ripping musicians they put on a terrific live show. The release of their new live EP will surely catapult them to even higher local status 'round here. They certainly are and will always remain some of the few talented bands in a mass of Bostonians struggling to hit it big. It amazes me that they haven't already become the next "big thing" in this nation--it's about time someone showed critics how to REALLY rip it, Massachusetts-style. But I do like it better this way, when I feel like Big D is all mine and no one else's, even though I know quite a few people who are bordering on obbsessive about them. I hope they're always around to rock to.
