In Loving Memory Of.....

Miltown By Kori Burnham

In blue grass, in dry dirt, autumn brought a new kind of discontent
In blue grass, in dry dirt, a cellar door would come to remind her
And away he went, just like a teenage love song
I never met a man I didn’t like, except for you, and you
Which side of cruel do you relate to?
And away he went, and delicate meant, just like a teenage love song
And away he went, her dignity was fiction, just like a teenage love song
”Predatory Male”

Originally, we had planned an interview with the rock/metal/emo/hardcore fun dudes, Miltown. On April 8th, our plans fell through like a weakly built tree-house. Miltown had officially split. All their shows, appearances, and album plans were canceled. Their EP and other recordings were going out of print, never to be re-released. Needless to say, I was devastated. But we shouldn’t blame them. When, as Jonah Jenkins, (the lead singer) put it, “creativity becomes secondary,” there’s nothing you can do except disband. When all that’s there are a few people on power and ego-trips, you don’t have a band. That’s not how music works. Although Miltown appears to be gone for good, we’ll always remember them. At least, I know I will. Through the incredible music they created, through the poetic lyrics, through memories of shows, and of what incredible guys they will always be to us. And as the bottom of the official Miltown web page says:
